Volunteering is important because it provides additional help and assistance to the work we undertake in the community. We rely on volunteers to achieve our goals and remain productive. Without volunteers, we would get challenges in fulfilling our objectives and mandate.
Volunteering Also:
Saves money that we would need to spend on paid employees
Helps us meet local needs required for the girl child to live freely and get the much needed support
Offers personal benefits to the volunteers themselves, including improved wellbeing and decreased stress
Enables communities have a personal view of the problems at hand and generates more ideas on solutions and way forward.
Helps volunteers build valuable experience and skills
We Can't Help Everyone, But Everyone Can Help Someone
How To Volunteer
You can visit our programs sections and see the work we do. Once you have found a program that interests you, please contact us by email or you can use the contacts form and we will get in touch.
Depending on the program, you may be invited to attend an informal interview to better understand how you can work with us.
Where volunteering involves contact with children or young people, you’ll need to be checked with the Disclosure and Barring Service (or national equivalent).
Gufasha Girls Foundation values diversity and welcomes applications from people from all sections of the community. We do our best to treat everyone equally.
We involve volunteers from the regions that we work in.
We welcome volunteers from outside Uganda but, unfortunately, we can’t help with travel arrangements, visas or accommodation. If you are a Ugandan resident but are from outside country, we recommend that you check the terms of your visa with the country’s Border Agency.
