Gufasha Girls Foundation is a commitment maker of the GBV Action Coalition under the UN Women Generation Equality Forum which gave us a privilege to attend side events organized by Generation Equality Forum and addressed by UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous who urged donors and donor organizations to provide youth-friendly support and funding to grassroots organizations that are championing the gender equality agenda.

Child marriage is not something that is only written about. It’s happening. It’s a nightmare. Child marriage continues to rob childhoods, futures, education and opportunities of millions of girls worldwide. Globally, 12 million girls are married off before the age of 18 every year and one in nine girls is married before they turn 15

The COP28 Presidency launched the Gender-Responsive Just Transitions & Climate Action Partnership on the Gender Equality Day aiming to build upon progress made through the enhanced UN Climate Change Lima Work Programme and its Gender Action Plan.

On the 6th October 2023 , Gufasha Girls Foundation organized and held it’s first ever annual gala, an event that aimed at using sports such as football and netball as a tool of advocacy to address the issue of child marriage and bring together a wider community to raise awareness

The Women Deliver Conference is one of the largest global multi-sectorial convenings to advance gender equality, health, rights and the well-being of girls and women. This year, the conference was held on the 17th -20th July 2023 at the Kigali Conventional Centre in Kigali, Rwanda.
